This is the 1984 movie in DVD format of Norman's Cousin acclaimed book "Anatomy Of An Illness" in which he describes how laughter played a major part in his recovery from a terminal disease: A man is randomly stricken with a degenerative spinal disease that threatens to render him paralyzed for the rest of his life. Despite the bleak prognosis, he fights the illness head on with the support of his wife and an indomitable sense of humor.
